My friend Kelly and I headed south and hooked up with fellow Tnetter Wallhangers for some serious field hunting. We hit several sites and did all right. Wallhangers showed us how by coming up with a flat button, partial crotal pieces, 2 IH's, 3 wheats, and two 1863 tokens: George Washington "Union Forever" and an "EH Sheldon Hardware, Constantine, MI" token. At the best site we found several coins lying on the surface.:icon_thumleft: I ended up with a geode, a compact lid, 2 green wheats: 1919 and 191(?) and an 1892 IH. Kelly found a 1911 wheat and a nice banded agate. The wind sure was unrelenting that afternoon :tongue3: and it is good to see more moderate temps are due this week. We all cleared a lot of metal from the fields. It was a fun day.

Nice digs guys! :hello2: :headbang:

Wow! Great finds! Those coins are in great shape. Love the agate, rockhounding is my first love, it's what got me started digging things out of the ground. ;D

We like the rocks, too, Jade. :icon_thumright: Kelly and I both had Geology back in our GVSC days, many moons ago. ::) I think Kel will admit she still loves rocks best. :o :laughing7:

Great digs Anne!! I agree, looks like a fun field to hunt. Good Luck on return visits

Nice nabs there Anne. I also have that same G.W. token. I love finding civil war tokens. Thery are amoung my favorite finds. That field hunting is just not my cup of tea. You do real good at it though. Congrats. :hello2:

Great finds! I have only found one civil war token, but it won Find of the Month Honors at Michigan Treasure Hunters Sept 1981. The plaque is just above my head as I type this. Hit that field some more! :icon_sunny:

It was a long day with some decent results. Anne and Kel were troopers because it was very windy in the open fields. At times the wind snuck through the headphones and I had trouble hearing the nulling. My iron pile was mostly surface finds as I wanted to get them out of the way for future hunts. I told them that there is probably a lot more coins in the ground since many of ours were surface finds. Although that site was fun because of all of the surface finds, "my" favorite site was the one where the only two keepers found were the two CW era tokens. You don't find much at those kinds of sites but it is exciting when a good signal comes in :icon_thumleft: Thanks Anne for posting pics of the hunt!

No doubt. I turned up the volume on my machine 2x to hear the signals better over the shrieking wind. :P

Looks like you had a great time out Anne, congrats on the finds, rocks and minerals, and that nice crisp IH!
