Anyone else notice that the little flakes tend to be high quality and varied material while the larger ones tend to be the most common stuff? I always assume it’s because they were importing the good stuff and getting all they could out of it.
 

Yes. I also find quite a few like those 2 small pieces
 

Or, they made a biface from raw flint then cooked it. It turns glossy and is easier to chip. The glossy chips coming off the cooked biface are always smaller than the initial thinning flakes from the raw flint. Paleo and early archaic rarely cooked rocks. From the late archaic on it was a common practice.
 

the small flakes are flintridge. I have found some nice flintridge points on the site. there are also many of the lesses chert relics.

I have also found coshocton and Harrison County flint on the site.
