Been a Minute

Finally got back to a creek. Had one flood since the last visit. Lots of older broken glass unfortunately no wholes. Found a few things. Mostly pottery and flake tools but one rough quartz point made it home with me. Some nice material to.

Nice little pattern on the pottery, I think for as much as believe I’ve trained my eyes I’d miss all kinds of quartz artifacts. Are they harder to spot or am I just a product of a quartz free area

I think a deer stepped on the quartz. Big chunk out the other side and a big crack on the front side

Quartz is easy to see so there might not be any worked in your area

I don’t have any at all, just sandstone limestone and shale, I feel like if I was somewhere with quartz I’d walk right past it

I prefer chert but will enjoy finding any type worked
