The Patriot and I had planned on a bit of a hunt today but circumstance had it he wasn't able to head out. I decided at the last minute to head out for a few hours, ended up with about an hour and a half to hunt after stopping at a few spots the girlfriend wanted and getting a quick supper.
After taking a quick drive by of my fields I decided on one that was plowed the past two years and the soybean crop just didn't work out so I was left with a nice flat field! The two times I had hit this field before finds were thin, so I wasn't expecting much. Just happy to dig a few targets! The plowing and recent rain brought up some targets, the little lead ball on a post and tombac were sitting right on top.
One musketball, one buckle, a piece of a huge buckle, couple flat buttons, a 1959 penny and as usual, one severely messed up copper that can't be IDed. At least it was overcast, quite cool and a bit of wind to keep the bugs off!
