I haven't done too much MDing lately, but do have a few finds. I just got back from my hometown in Indiana a few days ago. I found a 1901IH up there at my Dad's old farmhouse. I was hoping for more finds, but the trip was hectic.

Today I found a no date Buff Nickel , a large button (?), and a few other relics at the plantation house by my work.

Nothing too exciting, but I did score permission to MD the 1901 home you see pictured. The 84 yr old lady said I can MD whenever I want to, so that will be my new lunchtime hunting spot.

Finds:
*1901 IH
*No date Buff nickel
*Large heavy 28mm button (?).
Any idea on this piece? Age?
*A few relics.
Thanks for looking,
MM

Thanks Jack.
It's always nice to go back home to Indiana. I get re-energized being back there in the country.

As far as taking some "NC goodies" home with you next summer, I will start saving you all the plow tips and squared head nails so you have a bunch. ;) Are your sons near Raleigh?

Rebel,
You are right!!! I see it now in my post picture. I didn't even notice that. I had it under a high mag microscope to look for the date, but I must have looked too close I guess?
Thank you for pointing that out to me. A 1926 it is then.

Thanks PACO.
That was/is my goal before the year ends. I need to join the Barber Club and I'm running out of time.
I have an old CW area to hit tomorrow. Maybe I'll get lucky?
You guys have a great w/end,

Thanks D & B.
Very nice old lady. Says she used to pick cotton back in the old days. There is new commercial construction all around her property, but she says she won't sell out. She says her family has been there way to long to move now. ;D
Hopefully there are a few silver coins with my name on them. ;)

I'd suggest you hold on to that one... I've heard of these weights showing up at 18th and 19th century military sites. It is a hem weight but it's an old one and it might be from a uniform.
Don't go fishing with it just yet!
