Hi all, got my Bandido back. Went to Hanging Dog campground. That’s right, if you have read any western stories by Louis La’more (sp?). He refers to places in North Carolina in many of his stories. They have a swimming area down by the boat ramp. So as not to miss anything, I searched in all metal. I do this so I won’t miss a small ankle bracelet or chain just under the surface. I have my disc set 1 1/2. When I hit a target in all metal, I switch to disc to hear how good it is. If it crackles I know it’s most likely a bottle cap, but I dig anyway. I graph the area, and as I was starting a new line got the hit on the Taz. Switched to disc, nothing. Dug anyway. Glad I did. Nice 14k Taz.
My next outing took me to Blue Ridge, GA. The grounds surrounding the train track area are still mostly undisturbed. I dialed in my Bandido to 8 on the disc and worked the grass areas next to sidewalks and corners. Anywhere that looked promising, and there was a lot of that. The quarter came in on a walk. You know, got your eye on a spot that you want to start swinging at and your coil goes over a good target on your way there. BLING! I took a step and a half back, swung the coil, bling bling. Yep, that’s silver. In the pic, I didn’t know it but the ’25 Buffalo was right on top of it. when I pulled the quarter I saw the discoloration on the tails side. I’ve seen this before and knew that it was another coin laying on top of it. I looked through the door and sure enough there was the Buffalo. If it hadn’t of been on top of the quarter I never would’ve known it because my disc was so high. Sweeping over the area soon dislodged the ’46 Rosy and a couple more whtys. I was a happy camper. I’ll go back and dig all the signals here in the near future. When I left Blue Ridge I stopped at a old house in Young Harris. This is where I dug the Detroit Police button. I liked this better than all of my other finds. Anyone with some info on this button will be greatly appreciated. Shows nothing in my Alberts book, that I could find. HH Detectahead.
