Went searching for a few long forgotten cellar holes. Found one of them, there was no trail left to follow so i could only hunt the one. First find was a nice pedal/crotal bell, found what appears to be a sash buckle with a sheep or boars head on it. The pistol barrel is kind a odd, it`s heavy cast metel like a regular pistol, but the barrel is not open at the handle end, just 2 tiny holes. Any info on this would be great, Did they make toy guns out of heavy cast?
I did bring my camera this time, many many pictures, Enjoy...

Beautiful. I would just brush that in distilled water with maybe some soap, then mineral oil it and mount it in a frame.

The cloak chape, looks to have a Bull on it, only ever seen Lion versions. It went across the top of the cloak, breast area.

Yes its definitely a cloak or cape clasp , well at least half of one . Although mine has a different motif (yours looks a lion or wolf effigy)
you can definitely see the similarities . Great finds !

you braved the bears, timber snakes & copperheads and came out a WINNER. great stuff

China also has such a thing , what is your metal detector

ATW fantastic finds!! Beautiful gun barrel/pistol I'd be thrilled with that find ! Really nice crotal bell, and that cape clasp is really cool, i didn't know what it was... Thanks for ID, CRUSADER and leddel [emoji6]. Congrats and HH

Fantastic finds. Love the unusual boot pistol and awesome cloak clasp. Seems like those clasps often had animals on them (lions, bears, eagles, or even just the paw of a lion or bear).

Cheers,

Buck

The barrel is from a muzzleloader.... that's why it's only open on the muzzle end. The tiny wholes on the other end are "flash" holes for igniting the charge when the hammer falls. A nice little boot pistol barrel there!

That boot pistol is on my bucket list that's a nice old one with brass Barrel. The little holes in the end might be where Steel breech plug rusted away

sent from my computer by frantically poking at the keyboard with a single finger

11.gif...WITH LARGE BRASS LIKE THAT THERE...GOT TO BE MORE SMALLER GOODIES AROUND

:icon_thumleft: Those are some pretty nice finds. I would suggest that you go back and listen for those very faint tones, there just ought to be some more goodies to be found.
