I finally found some time to get out and do a little digging after months of wishing I was! The heat didn't stop my friend Arty and I we hit an old mill site after 6:30 thinking the humidity would drop. NOPE. Lost 5 pounds in 2 hours beating around the bush and wound up with 4 buttons a strange token with and eagle and a banner with letters above it and what I think is my first Jew's Harp. But not a brass one. One made of steel or Iron. Arty wound up with a few buttons and some odds and ends. The pack of wild dogs didn't stop us either
An intense moment of hearing them yelping and walking nearby in the pitch black with only an army shovel was scary. Found a button with a very strange shank. Was wondering if anyone could ID it. The floral button has a Kendrick backmark and dates to the 1830's. Also found 1 tombac. Mind you this site has been pounded but someone wasn't taking their time to hear those little chirps
Heres some pics. Thanks for looking.
