Managed a few hours today, some obvious items (pretty sure the large coin will be a 8 Reale) some not so much (chunks of iron in coral).

The cannon ball in coral should be 3inch or so when cleaned up.

Some musket shot and a copper nail, a CHUNKY padlock and also what I really hope to be bayonet, albeit bent!

Very nice! You will have to post up when you get them cleaned up some, well done.

will do!!!

There ya go, BVI'ing it again lol. The size looks right for an 8R but ya never know!...well until the crust comes off. Looking forward to seeing them cleaned up. Definitely peaked my curiosity about the bayonet :headbang:

Nice surprises! Congrats!

I always take encrusted stuff home, I love the not knowing what it is, kind of exciting. So far it's just iron trash, but after a storm, you never know!

Duh!!! BVI lives on one island in the British Virgin Islands which have a total land area of 59.07 square miles for all of them which are surrounded by the Caribbean Sea with a total surface area of 1.063 million square miles of water and also the Atlantic Ocean with a total surface area of 41.08 million square miles of water. Just thought I would point out that there is very little land to hunt but a whole damn lot of water!:tongue3:

The padlock and (hopefully) bayonet were actually finds on the mid high tide line, so not "fully submerged" hence no thick build up of coral?
The rest found on SCUBA.

The attachments don't work for me, did they get taken down?

have re-attached.

Reale cleaning up nicely but it is corroded...

It's a Real but badly worn.

I thought it maybe two coins together but am not sure?

Thanks Frank!

( still not cooked those fish I see :dontknow:)

With the " black section" between silver, may be a counterfeit? They used to clad those in silver I think?

The bayonet cleaned up well, albeit it a little corroded.
I like to think it was bent off the ribs of an attacking Pirate but more likely just 300 years of being thrashed around on rocks!
