Wow, those bugs were a killer today, I think im done with this site till spring when all the vegetation isnt in the way. But dont worry, there were 150 farms baught by the govt. in the Fingerlakes National Forest where ive been hunting, so theres many more foundations out there for me to locate and hunt. These are all farms baught by the Govt. because of depleting nutrients in the soil back in the 1940s. Many of them are in pastures, and many of them are way off the beaten path. My 1850s map from the library tells me exactly where these farms were. some of these places are dead to hunt because they were mostly poor farmers. So I dig what I can find and move on to the next one. The abandoned road site only produced 2 LCs and 2 indian head cents, and some relics. Today I found the 1896 & 1868 injuns. also found another small bottle(f.e.r.&co) says on the bottom. another piece to my crotal bell, and this white ceramic eye. I think it may have been either part of a tea kettle or maybe even a brooch....not sure, maybe someone out there will recognize it.
pics are added so enjoy,
thanks
