Met up with uncle Jeff of PA this morning for a hunt at a nearby park. This park was good to me the last two trips, giving up 2 barber dimes and a standing liberty quarter. I got there early with hopes of having a silver in the pocket before Jeff arrived
Well, it didn't happen, but within 2 minutes of being there I dug my first ever V Nickel, a 1905. Minutes later I dug a no date buffalo nickel. As Jeff arrived, I dug a 2nd buffalo nickel, no date on this one either. Ended up with Gas rebate of $2.22, a few pull tabs, some junk, an army paratrooper, 2 wheats (52D & 44), 2 buffs, a V and half of a metal button of some sort.
I tried something new today. I noticed a challenge to another member on here to go out on a hunt and dig all high tones, not to even look at the numbers on the screen for one hunt and see how he did. Today I decided to do just that and while I dug more trash than I normally do, i ended up with more nickels than i've ever dug in one hunt and can now cross the "V" off my list
