Yesterday I was shrimping in a river here where I do some artifact hunting as well.Well about mid-day I stoped & took a break so I pull up to the shoreline where I hunt sometimes for N/A artifacts. It's a shell midden that is washing out of the banks.Well the tide was pretty high yesterday cause of the North east wind we been having here so I knew it was going to be a long shot (not the best way to do looking). At any point I saw this good size rock sticking out of the shoreline.Around here you just don't find big rocks of this size so I knew something was strange already(other then old ballast stones or foundation stones from old homes).Anyway I knew this area not noted for that.So I pulled it from the bank to find out it was a grinding stone the N/A's had used. It's a cool one too cause it has been used on both sides thought that was kinda neat. Here's a look at my first for one of these.
