After dinner i was just relaxing, almost half asleep untill the phone rings. Its my hunting partner Mud(swat) saying "hey Im going to the park, you wanna meet me there to hunt for a while? So half asleep, i say "that place is so hunted out, but....sure....i guess....maybe ill meet you there once i wake up a bit....so i head to the store, get a cup of coffee and off to the hunted out park i go. I pull up and theres my partner swinging away, so i get out w/coffee in hand and say..."i havnt the energy to even get my machine out, never the less dig. He says "drink some coffee and wake up. So i get my machine out
and head strieght for the back corner thinking "ok, one hole, ill dig one hole, if its nothing good? then im going back home.
so after about 5mins i get a nice high coin at 5inches and out pops this, a 1906 Canadian quarter, so i show it to Mud, and he says something like, "you turned on your machine and walked right to that target, ...all i could do is explain how its a spot we really didnt hit this year. anyway, i left after digging 3 clad dimes and 2 clad niclels. he said he was going to hunt a little more so hopefuly he found some silver. this is actualy my first silver canadian quarter. It popped out of the plug with those scratches on it, was hopeing it was in better condition.
enjoy the pics,
Pro-

Always good to have a little luck on your side Prolab. Nice dig.

Nice Canadian silver.

I found this during a google search, there seems to be a few variations of this coins rev. is anyone familiar with this? ive google both variations for pictures, but cant tell the difference :help:

One of the great rarities of the Canadian series that has only come to light in recent years. In 1906 the reverse was re-designed to improve the look, and life span of the issue. In doing this, the crown was made larger and the leaves re-designed. A small number of 1906 25 Cents were produced using the old reverse dies. The Small Crown variety is rarely found above VG with about 75% of the known examples in VG, or worse condition. Only one piece has been certified in Mint State

I'm so new to this I don't even own a detector yet. Just shopping. I do think, however, that I have learned this much: He who says, "I'm only digging one hole," is being as honest with himself as a fisherman who says, "Just one (more) cast." Nice coin.

Hey man your a lucky dog, but not that lucky. :laughing7: It looks like a large crown to me. :icon_scratch: I did some more looking around and the other type seems to be a good deal smaller than yours. :dontknow: Awesome find though, silver Canadian quarter from 1906 is nothing to joke about. :icon_thumleft:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D
