A "GOOD FOR FIVE IN TRADE" token & SILVER!!!
Well, today started out early. After Dupont Bed-Lining all my coils yesterday I was anxious to give it a go! Here in Southern Colorado, it begins getting daylight at around 4:30 because of the 7200 ft elevation. I'm usually up by then but not moving too fast!. I got to Kit Carson Park at a little after 6 and went right to work. I tried a kiddy lot but obvious to me someone had cleaned it out as I found nodda. I proceeded to work a field area and immediately found a small cache of modern coins. There was 3 quarters, a nickel, 2 dimes and about 10 pennies! Man, I thought I'd hit it rich! At about 7, the maintenance people began arriving with their mowers forcing me into the tree area.
Long story ( 6 hours) of hunting I ended up with the following:
18 Lincolns
9 Wheats
5 nickels
9 Clad Dimes
1--1964 Rosie
2--1917 Mercurys
5 Clad Quarters
3--Silver Quarters 1944--1953--1963
1 Clad Kennedy (someone must have just lost it--very clean!
TOTAL COINS: 53
The 2 rings and charm are not worthy. The real surprise was the "GOOD FOR FIVE IN TRADE" token. I found it about 30 feet from where I found the "TEN IN TRADE" but this one is much better designed! It's still the exact same size as a nickel. I guess I need to "BED LINER" my coils more often; it works mighty fine! Goodbye coil covers!
*A side note: I was curious to Captain SE's silver success and contacted him. He's a real gentleman, patiently answering all my questions! Although I was on the right track, regarding my SE's setup, he did confirm a thing or two and just maybe a little of his luck rubbed off on me! Thanks Captain SE!!!
