Took a load of fuel to a new customer today and after I pumped off the fuel I could not help myself and ask the land owner could I walk out in his field across a small ridge. I walked 100yds stepped over two rows and walked back to my truck, because rain was trying to set in. Here are my finds, I think there may be an arrowhead or more out there. I ask the land owner could I come back and he said anytime, so I'll be back.:laughing7: 001.webp

I reckon!! You really think you'll find arrowheads in that field?? Lol! Congrats on the new grounds! What is the larger stone?

It does look like you're on to something monsterrack! Pretty material, what is it? Sure looks like some tools there.

Nice introductroy finds to a site that may hold some potential. Looks like a section to an awl in the bottom row, third from the right. Nice Finds!

In my work I drive past so many beautiful fields that just call out to me. Bad thing is I never have the time to stop. I'm glad you found a new spot!

Looks like you have a new field thats going to produce some good artifacts.
Good luck, and I look forward to seeing what your going to find.

No doubt you found yourself a honey hole field. Good luck - Cant wait to see what you find there.

So is the big rock broken in half? Looks to be a dimple in the center.

Kat that is what we call creek chert, around here the creeks are full of this stuff , smaller than about hand size and sometimes larger. It is very hard to make points out of, unless you heat treat it and then it still may not work good. That's why in this area a point that is over 3in is a great find, we just don't have the stone that other states have, but the local Native Americans did a good job with what they had.

Good color, good tools/'chunkers', good relationship, good on you! Hope you have much success hunting there! Yak

Gee monsterrack, didn't know that some rocks are so hard & have to be heat treated! I'm learning that even though I love rocks...I sure don't know much about them....thanks for the (another!) lesson....
