It's just a broke, but I like it because it's "the type" from the place it's named for, because it was a huge point before it busted, and because it's the only thing I've found that was NOT Onondaga Chert. Maybe I'll find the rest of it someday. IMG_0529.JPG

Best guess: Ritchie mentions larger-than-usual Jack's Reef points from the Seneca River made from Flint Ridge Chalcedony on pg. 114 of "New York Projectile Points - A Typology and Nomenclature". My photo isn't great - the real color is closer to white than gray.

It's tough to Type a broke, but I can certainly add back some of the broken chert and come up with a Jack's Reef. But the notches look so wide, I can also see it as a Snyders: much more rare. Pictured here is the broke and an archetypal Jack's Reef and Snyders from Ritchie's Typology.
