Went hunting with friends today to a new spot. Was all excited about where we were going. It's an old community in a once busy coal mining town south of here. Some of the old houses are still occupied and some are falling in and some are long gone. :'( We had been planning our trip for two weeks and I could hardly wait to get there. We started out at the house below. Nothing but clad. Then we wandered across the road to a vacant lot that once had a home on it, now torn down and littered with tiny pieces of what ever you could possibly imagine. Nothing but clad and the marble. The building next to that is the City Hall and the grass was knee high. I did manage to find two keys there and the little car. We had arrived at 10:30 and after hours of finding nothing exciting I asked my friend if the place had ever been hunted before.
"Well yes," she says...."My uncles hunted here in the 60's and 70's." :-X And they did a fine job, I might add! :P At 2:30 we were invited in to have lunch with her parents who live in the house over. They were very hospitable and I enjoyed my time with them. Leaving from there we stopped by an old cemetery..no...I didn't hunt the cemetery! ;D But I did hunt the parking area. It was in the middle of a grassy turn about I found a little cache of pennies and one nickel, all lined up in a row, 18 coins total, the newest being a 95 and the oldest a 64. Not exactly what I was looking for, but neat non-the-less. Left there and went to a site behind an old drug store and found a button. Looks like a really old button, but as I was trying to wash off the crust it started to fall all to pieces. :-\ Not much on keepers today, but had a great time with friends. :)

Oooh... the car appears to be a Ford GT-40 (one of the greatest cars ever). Nice marble too! Nice haul Nana! -Ben
