A Little Gold From a Gold Mine Today!

When I say "a little gold" I mean very little, but a cool piece nonetheless.
I decided to hunt around one of the old gold mining camps. It's pretty looked-out, but not completely!

The gold is that little Knights Of Pythias lapel pin. It isn't marked gold, but when I looked it up that's what everybody was saying. I acid tested it myself, and sure enough, 14k!

The brass tube with wood inside has me puzzled. Dallemand & Co., Chicago were known distillers, but I can't figure out what this piece would have to do with that.

Nothing too exciting, but a nice day to be out, and one decent keeper in the pouch is a plus!

Locally we have a cave that is used for private fraternal rituals. Supposedly it started being used by the Knights Of Pythias in 1925.

Congratulations on the 14Kt pin.
The Dallemand item was possibly a part of a bar implement.
They were a distillery 1888-1919

Given Dallemand & Co.'s history as pre-Prohibition liquor distillers and rectifiers in Chicago, these objects were often used as promotional giveaways or functional tools for handling spirits.
