With rain and short days, I’m just not getting alot of hunting done. Luckily the last few days have been dry and I did find some goodies. First day saw me in Durant and I did find a few wheats and a 1928 mercury dime. Second day I traveled over to Madill and Oakland, Ok. I stopped at a homeplace that Freak on a Lesche and I had hunted before and did manage a mercury dime. I then moved to Oakland and I came across a old homeplace that had some interesting history. The home had belonged to a retired Texas Ranger that had long since passed away. His family was still there after 70+ years. The original home was long gone and had been pushed down so the trash was really heavy. I did manage several newer wheats, a Oklahoma tax token, and a lid to a Dr Sayman’s ointment jar
Then yesterday DpDave38 and myself headed to a home that was built in 1917. I found several wheats and this 1902 V nickel
DpDave got ther and we started to grid off the yard. He found a neat tag that he mentioned in his post earlier..
My oldest find was a 1887 Indian Head, weird thing is it was hitting 10-17 and I couldn't find any other thing in the hole with it. Out of the hole it hit a solid 10-35...
Found a washington quarter and a few other things. Had a great time and am ready to head back....
