My daughter and I went to a playground today that has a pretty long trail nearby that has a creek through it. My daughter wanted to through some rocks and of course my head was down just searching...

Very water worn but a pleasant surprise.

What a pleasant surprise, you never know where you'll get lucky. That sucker has been rolled and tumbled and still looks good.

In an area so heavily traveled for dogs - def pretty ugly little thing

Your piece is worn heavily. It's not native but I'm not allowed to tell you what it is. Thanks to a gag order. It is still something

Combining family time and rock hunting time, doesn't get much better than that!!!!

Love your passion @Backwoodsbob

Now that is a good day! Congrats! I'd be looking for excuses to take her back to the playground...often.

She's a doll. Y'all need to walk that creek more often. Next time you spot one, stoop over, sniff a little and say, "I smell an arrowhead here somewhere close by. Help me look for it". Let her find it and hopefully we'll add another generation of collectors.

That point has done its time but it sure has a lot of character.

It doesn't get much better than that. Get to spend some quality time with your daughter and find a nice Point in the process. Very cool.

Ignore Bob. That is an ancient Native American Point.

The smile on that little critters face is worth a million bucks., OUTSTANDING job dad.

Bob's jealous.

Nice find ..... I think she planted it there so now your gonna want to take her to the park everyday

Nice example of what water can do to a quartz type point. Nice save

Cool find! Great pic of your mini hunter in training! She's adorable!

Nice find! The wear gives it more character :icon_thumright:

She loves her rocks - doesn't have the endurance. It took daddy about a mile with her on my shoulders but well worth it. My son is six and has found a few arrowheads but a bunch of scrapers, knife tips, and some other tools. At the moment he's hooked but it comes and goes. Two of my fields should be plowed in a week or two - taking both of the kids with mommy support at least once.

everything about this post is just awesome..thanks for sharing

Thanks it's great to love those rocks but better when the ones you love start to love them like you. I love combining family time with rock hunting as much as possible - my zen. Hoping my son and i find a few this weekend to post.

i think i may have over done it with mine when they were little, they were not a blend of a horse and a camel like me,my son will go sometimes, but my daughter no way.but i still remember when she did.

Yeah def trying not to over do it... I always ask and give him the choice. FUN TIMES. Good luck hunting my friend!
