Congrats on the IH!!!

congrats Gman, those IHCs are tough. Only trick to finding them is VOLUME and you've got that down.

Take a good look at this one there was an error that year.

Ditto.

You still amaze me GMan! Nice job.

gman you do great volumes of coins each week. you must work at this 8 hours a day.
nice find on the IH's

Three obsolete US designs in one day (IHC, Buff., Merc.). That's what I call a great day!

Not really. Here's a quick breakdown

Here are my approximate search times.
$50 bag of pennies = 30 minutes
$200 bag of nickels = 75 minutes
$1000 bag of dimes = 60 minutes <-- not sure of this one, but its less than 90 minutes for sure.
$1000 bag of quarters = 30 minutes <-- could be a little high
$1000 bag of halves = 60 minutes (I error check halves)

Based on my volume, average searched per week (call this week #24)
Total Pennies = 640,435 (per week = 5.33 bags = 160 minutes)
Total Nickels = 151,286 (per week = 1.58 bags = 118 minutes)
Total Dimes = 214,851 (per week = 0.90 bags = 54 minutes)
Total Quarters = 25,467 (per week = 0.26 bags = 8 minutes)
Total Halves = 6,601 (per week = 0.14 bags = 8 minutes)

So total average search time for a week = 348 minutes or approx 5.8 hours.

Now add the total time for pick up (typically 2 pickups in a week) which might total 10 minutes and sometimes a 3rd stop on a saturday which takes 45 minutes as I have to drive 15 minutes or so each way so say I average 45 minutes/week for pickups due to the three pickups and the occasional road trip.

Then all that is left is dropping off rejects which is probably another 30 minutes to 1 hour per week.

Total is still around 8 hours per week more or less.

Also note... my total volume just reached over 1,000,000 coins for the year with my 06-07-2008 search.

Good job on the IH. IT took long enough, but I'm sure you were happy to finally get your first one for 2008. :-)
