Hi everyone,
I managed to find a few things today on lunch break out back in the woods. I've pounded the area with the equinox 800 the last couple of years. I purchased the Deus 2 a couple weeks ago and am getting to know it and have managed to have my best hunt with it so far. The dime and nickel were found about a foot apart and at around 6 inches deep. I'm not sure what the tiny silver piece is with all the numbers on it lol. It reads Open on one end and ABRE on the other. It has numbers 2170 and 88451. The other round brass piece with 4 holes I have no clue on as well.
Thanks for looking!

It sounds like you had a successful hunt! The dime and nickel find is great, and it's always exciting to uncover unknown objects. As for the silver piece with numbers and the brass piece with holes, they could be anything from old tokens or coins to pieces of machinery or tools. Without more information or context, it's difficult to identify them. You could try doing some research online or consulting with a local historian or antique expert to see if they can offer any insights.

One of these days someone is going to dig a 42 over 41 merc. The 4 looks a little suspect but I don't see the 1 under the 2.
Great job and grats.

The little silver piece could be a bird leg band for a small bird?
Thank you AU Seeker! That was one of my first thoughts and sure enough I entered in the numbers on the USGS bird banding program website and it turns out it was an Myrtle Warbler bird that was banded in 2000 just outside of Ontario Canada. Its crazy how far it traveled all the way down to Brooksville FL lol.
