Those are what I call a "rivet nail"...

The head looks like a rivet on a nail.

They are usually very old... definitely a keeper.

You know... I am not 100% positive on it... sheesh could even be a hinge pin that has deteriorated.

I've half way learned my lesson on throwing things away two items mainly. it took 2 for me to learn that so i'm trying not to make it 3.
 

Sure looks old. I sure as hell wouldn't toss it.
