A newbie's first finds from the beach
Today was only my third day out and I'm getting better about the sounds and adjustments. I would have stayed out on the beach longer, but gale force winds are blowing! Whew - welcome to Cape Cod! I know that the pics (Day 1, 2, & 3) are nothing to write home about, but I'm happy with the success I'm having so far. The recent storm seems to have dumped a boatload of sand on the beach, so I'm finding more stuff in the dry sand than in the wet. My first day I didn't have a clue what I was doing! I found 2 coins and a pile of junk. The oldest coin is a 1964 nickel, found yesterday. The boat oarlocks, today, were about 20 feet apart and I also found the world's smallest Coleman lantern. The Hall China breadplate piece, today, is from circa 1908-1910.
I love my new hobby!!
