Today CSAChipper, KBaker and I went to a location in Duplin County, NC. We had a good day. All three of us found a Union Infantry Button and wheat pennies. KBaker also found two IH pennies. CSAChipper found a militia belt buckle and part of a shoe buckle too. We all had a nice mixture of relics from different periods of history. I found a few pre-Civil War buttons, camp lead and my first Buffalo Nickel. The Union Infantry Button i found was my first. A good day for all!!

Nice work! Have you identified the belt plate yet? If you will post the dimensions, with a good quality photo in "What is it?" I bet we can get it Identified.

Cheers,

Buckles

CSAChipper has it. We have concluded that it is a militia clipped corner buckle.
