It's been nasty in DC and I'm not talking about the politicians. Today was mild so I got out for only 20 minutes-- the next storm is set to hit tomorrow.

My finds were like the weather. The only interesting thing I found was this small piece of metal. Because I think everything I find looks like a bullet, I'll leave this one to the more seasoned. No markings that I can see but I'm going to double-check with a high power loupe.

Don't fall asleep while reading this riveting dig story. :unhappy smiley:

What I thought it might be, your second set of pictures would have proved me wrong.
But, at least you went and got something.

I went out during this near fifties rainy day, just before the snow we are getting now.
I detected five gold rings, ten pc's. Of colonial silver, and a cache of twenty dollar gold coins.

But, the ground is too frozen to dig them up. That's probably what they are, really..
I started to prove it, but I broke a pick axe tip off trying to get them out.
I'm sure that's what they'll be, as soon as it thaws, I'll prove it.
Mmmmwwaahahahaha. !!!

No, I have not been snowed in too long.

Okay, I looked it up. While I can definitely see the similarities, wouldn't a ramset pin be magnetic? I'm assuming, but I didn't even know what one was until you mentioned it. Mine also has a small hole in the middle.

Sadly, I'm sure it's nothing major, but when there's so much snow on the ground it's worth getting you guys to take a look.

Here's to SNOW MELT in bulk!!! :occasion14:
