You never know what is under it until you dig! This weekend at several schoolyards proved it true again. I dug my first complete medal, with all of the hardware and ribbon intact. It was 6" under the soil, (been there a while) and is a mid-1970's Boy Scouts Soapbox Derby racing award.

Also found a semi-relic, that being an old International Harvester (?) radiator or tank cap, solid brass with screw threads. Found a wrestling medal with no engraving on the reverse, fairly new.

Found many pendants and one marked sterling silver earring. I particularly like the pewter baseball glove, the silver colored shark tooth and the copper or brass howling wolf (great detail on this...wonder if it is related to scouting too?) I think the "Cray" pendant is for fans of the blues artist, Robert Cray....:laughing7:

Thanks for looking, I know it ain't much but it is always great to get out on a beautiful weekend and dig those widgets and wonders. Happy Hunting to all, Sub 8-)

Hey Subterranean, Does the baseball glove have the gold ball in the palm and Avon on the cuff. I dug one of those last Summer. Nice item.

Hey NGINY, no gold ball, just a hole where it used to be attached. Ugh. Schoolyards rock! Sub 8-)
