I found this coin purse in the woods which contained 10 coins 7 of which are silver.

Swedish silver: 1872 25 öre
1883 50 öre
1907 2 kr
1919 10 öre
Danish silver: 1912 10 öre
1919 25 öre x 2

The purse hallmark reads: Kraft Alpacca Gelötet. Alpacca is a trade name for Nickel Silver, also called German Silver. So it's probably silver plated. ??? It was made sometime between 1900-1940

Very nice, if you post the pictures including the cleaned up purse on Tnet you may get some votes. Is the purse hallmarked?
I just cleaned the purse and actually found the hallmark. I added the still pictures to this thread. It reads Kraft Alpacca Gelötet. Alpacca is a trade name for Nickel Silver, also called German Silver. Unfortunately at best it's silver plated and not worthy of a banner find.

I think the chain-mail "body" of the purse could very well be silver and only the "mouthpiece" alpacca.
But that "German silver" is persistent to time nevertheless...

Great pics and why not a banner find? Not only money value makes for banner.
You've got my vote.

Not sure why you think it not being silver knocks it off the list. I just hoped it was the icing on the cake.

You got it on film for starters. No-one can say you didn't find it.

I would encourage others to think about it & vote.

Thanks for the banner vote! It would be great to have a banner find.
