I met up with my buddy John from Edmonton yesterday at a local lake and we hunted all day. We had beautiful weather for it so it was a long hunt, but well worth it as we both got lots of targets and quite a few keepers. I managed to get 6 rings and only one was junk, one was 14K, one 10K, and three were silver. Also got a nice long silver chain, lots of clad and an old 1945 V nickel.

Here's the loot...

That's what I call a successful day at the beach. Good for you and your buddy

I am hoping for a 6 ring day. 3 is the most I can muster but I don't put in the hours that I used to.

I did notice that there isn't as many targets as when I first started. I get to a new spot and clean out hundreds of bottle caps and flip tops.

I have a picture of a 5 gal. bucket full of shotgun shells in 1 season out of one sand bar. It did produce like 6 gold rings in 12 visits.

It is on the once a year list now and easy to hunt.

Oh by the way welcome to T-Net I do the lake hunting also. :headbang: :hello: :icon_thumleft: :hello2: :icon_salut: :icon_king:

Not foreign to him! He's in Canada where that V nickel is standard fare.
