I also unearthed this at the colonial house on the same day as the shoe buckle. I was a real suprise as it was only about 2" deep and rang up as a shallow cent.

A few treatments with Al jelly seems to have revealed some amazing detail! I'm not sure what it was, but it may have been a brooch or sorts. It appears that a stone may have been attached to the front. Definitely one of my more beatiful relics and another treat from this colonial house.

Any info on this item would be appreciated!

Very interesting piece. I hope we get an ID on it.
 

I'd say it is a broach. What ever it is it's a sweet find for sure.
 

Thats very nice!! Thanks for sharing it!! I think thats one of the things i like most about this forum compared to some of the others i partake in,there is always something different being found and shared here on Tnet.
