Another beautiful day here after heavy overnight rain. So we decided to head out to our favourite field, that has the Roman Road across it.

I found this Tiny weight (?) He found the lead weight, we both found Thimbles, gorgeous buckles, 3 musket balls, a damaged Jetton, scrappy Roman, and a bit of a Fibula brooch, an amazing selection of buttons, a Jetton, and a Roman, and a Cartwheel Penny, and another bit that I’m not sure about! xx

The button next to the Cartwheel Penny has an initial on it… amazing detail for such a tiny button!

The Jetton is: Early Post-Medieval jetton struck by Damian Krauwinckel
Obverse: Lion of St Mark nimbate and winged, standing left, holding Gospels in right fore-paw 1553-81 …

What a truly amazing day! The last picture is another view from yesterday…. But thought it nicer than the brown flat field of today!

Sure looks like one glorious day! Great collection of buckles. The Cartwheel Penny looks enormous in your pic, especially compared to the button. How deep was it? Did it blow your ears off?
