Detector(s) used
Explorer XS/II & Garrett ACE 250
that I took just a little too long to post here, but what a treasure it was. A few months back, I sold a metal detector[For his daughter] to Larry, Mastereagle22, you know, that guy who was running for his life ;D the other day on that hunt with Baldingboy. Anyhow, along with the letter, she sent me one of her finds, a penny, as her way of saying thanks. I was very happy to sell this detector to Larry, knowing it would be used as opposed to just sitting and collecting dust. It's my understanding that she is very possesive of her finds, and would only give a penny away if it's a zinc........this one is copper. To Larry and Madison, thanks for this treasure.

How Awesome! I bet you made her day with that md!

A treasure gift for a lifetime!

Yes she decided to do it by herself. I told her that Ricardo_NY1 had spent some of his own money to ship the detector and that I was going to send him the difference she told me to "hold on" She went to her room and came out several minutes later with a piece of paper folded and told me I could not read what she had written, and that she had to put it in the envelope and mailbox. She told me it was a surprise for the person that had sold her her detector. She then tried to give me her own money to buy the machine, but I had just had a B-Day and I got a little extra $$ from a relative and I told her I had it covered. Everday for a week she would come home from school and ask me to check the forum to see if Ricardo_NY1 had sent me any messages, I asked her what she has written she would never tell me. Now I know. Thank you for sharing the letter so that I could see what she wrote! I try very hard to be a good father and seeing this just shows me that at least for right now my wife and I are doing something right, I only hope we don't mess it up before she matures and gets out on her own.

Thank you Ricardo_NY1 for sharing this with me and everyone else. She still likes to hunt but the ground has been very hard. The rain helped the other day and I did come home from work and found her out in the front yard trying to find more "treasures." She didn't find much, a few pennies but she and I have permission to hunt a house that the owner will only let us hunt when Madison is with me. She has NEVER given anyone else permission in the 35 years she has lived there! We have found some neat things there and there are some more to find I am sure. I will keep you posted. :)

P.S. if it had been a Zipper Pull she and I would have to have had a serious talk! ;D
