So a new house is being built, where an old one once stood...original house was built in 1925...right in my wheelhouse! The front yard has been scraped down, new sod to be put down next week. The permission was easily granted, and the turf gave me some goodies!
11 wheats, two buffs, the greenie is 1920!, and my first hunt ever finding 2 Barber Dimes!:headbang: Happy to find a fat Washington as well. Not much trash, no keeper "relics", just a nice beep beep dig for a few hours..

I get home, and my 31" Sampson Lesche is waiting to meet me...thanks to Wayne and the gang at Metal Detector Sales Rental | Treasure Hunting | Metal Detecting Stuff

Nice haul. Two barber dimes in one day ... awesomeness! :occasion14:

Congratulations on those finds!! The two buffalo nickels< have you looked at them closely? I do not know much about coins but veiwing them the two faces and head dresses(feathers) seem to be quite a bit different. What do you think. Could be the date they were made. different artist. Just curious. HH

Just chewed up from being in the turf for 70 or so years... The 1936 took a beating, but the 1920, while also pretty common, came out with a dandy green patina...never seen a Buffalo nickel turn green... Old coppers and IH cents, yea...But this is a first for me that I've seen....thanks for looking!

Nice, those shovels are about the only thing other than a jackhammer we can dig with here in summer, unless in a lawn.

Great coin hunt! Congrats on the Barber's and Washington, they are both pretty rare in my area now.

Sometimes I have dreams about that perfectly scraped yard. Just bare dirt waiting to be breached. We stopped at an 1800s house once that was scraped like that and unfortunately were turned away because the guy that did the scraping and grading was given exclusive permission to detect it as well. I always try to keep my eye open for things like that.

Great hunt and Sweet on the double barber day!! I've never found two barbers in a day.

That's the kind of hunt I like good job!!

Nice digging tool, I have a Lesche Predator. Woods, fields, no parks.
Congrats on the silver, buffalos, and wheats.
You had a really good day
