Hello Treasure hunters, I am new to this site.
I have been working on the Justin Posey treasure box hunt (Beyond the Map's Edge).
I need some advice on a blaze, whether it could be part of this hunt or a hunter's blaze? I found some interesting items as you can see in the pictures and in my comments below. But I am worried maybe it is all a coincidence and a lot of this is just a hunter's blaze or a trail blaze. I did see shotgun shells in the valley floor below about 100 feet away. So, curious if anyone has seen a blaze like this or not?
So....I followed some of the clues on Justin's poem and website. When I got to a location to hunt, I found some clues, so let me walk you through it...
The poem starts with walking near waters' silent flight. So, I did that, but do not want to give too much away on this and the exact location. But then I found the rock in the photo with 3 dots on it (likely just bird droppings, but could be used as foot of 3). When I line up the third dot at 20 degrees on my compass that has the line connected then follow the other line, it puts me at about 300 degrees or so, and puts me on a trail next to a cliff face wall to the northwest that the trail runs straight west along the cliff face wall. After walking along the trail about a few hundred yards I come across a rock up to my shins sitting on the trail with the double arcs you can see in the photo, (more on this below). Then I go about another quarter mile, and I see the rock sitting on the other, that perhaps looks like an animal head? Perhaps this animal is "wisdom" and it is supposed to waiting in shadowed sight. More on this below. But after seeing that head, I go up about another couple hundred yards, and I see a water channel about four feet down and four feet across. Directly on the other side of channel, is this bush in the picture with the rocks around it stacked up and metal marker. This might be interpreted as the "bride". I believe the bride in the poem is Cassiopeia and is the "W". So "Wonder" guards this space. Note - it says "space" and not find the place. The bride is also guarding the "place", more on this below. But if the bride is wonder, then maybe this metal marker is almost like a "W" or am I imagining this? Within 50 yards or so of this metal marker bush blaze are alot of other stacked rocks as you can see in the photo with some of them as an arrow pointing back to the bush.
So, I spent 2 long weekends traveling through many states to get to this location and spent a long-time hunting along this entire trail. Then it hit me that the double arcs in poem says, "where secrets of past still hold", so I think the treasure is not on this trail, so if you see double arcs then you back to start. So, it is closer to the waters' silent flight and the foot of 3. Also, "guard" is mentioned as bride stands guard at beginning of poem and "Wonder guards" towards end of poem. Also, if that head on the rock is "wisdom" then it should stay where it is meaning waiting in shadowed sight if I read it right, so I think I need to go back to this location and go opposite way of this trail. But here is the deal..... could all of this just be trail markers by local rangers or could it be a hunter's blaze so when they are down in valley hunting, they find this bush, so they climb the right part of the cliff face to their campfire sight?
I am new to treasure hunting, and I am not a wild game hunter, so I could be looking too much into this. I hear about the phrase "confirmation bias", so I welcome any feedback that perhaps I am looking into this too much...
