Josh and I returned to our latest site that has been good to the two of us recently. I got a faint signal bouncing around the mid 40's in the vicinity of where the other two H.M.A.'s were recovered, lo and behold, a third :o :o :o I decided to leave this one with most of the dirt caked on and H.M.A. visible for display. One of the replies to the last thread from a former local hunter stated that he had heard of 8 H.M.A.'s being dug (including our 2). I think it's safe to say an entire coat was discarded in this area so there should be a couple more nearby. Also came away with my best seated dime to date (1877).

Side note- after closer inspection, the buttons are two different variations. The one from yesterday has a slanted left side on the building and thinner letters. For a better view, check out this link and you will see the differences.

Beautiful dime! :icon_thumleft:

What about the $1,000.00 Button??!! Compared to that button, the dime is what we in the relic world call "FLUFF"

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

Truly Incredible guys!!! Each time I think you have reached your peak at those sites-you surpass your last hunt. WTG and I don't think I need to say Happy Hunting, Quindy.

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

They say three times lucky, may there's the whole set. Way to go. :headbang:
BTW Nice silver.

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

I love the look of that uncleaned button sitting next to the cleaned button. With the "gold plating" left inside the "windows", it looks as if the "lights" are on in the building! :laughing7: Congratulations on finding your third H.M.A. button umrgolf2010! :notworthy:
As you mentioned, I bet that there's more where those came from too!

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

yeah we've had an amazing time on that spot...i still can't believe that it popped out where it did after how hard we worked that area, just goes to show that the rain helped lift some of those signals...HOPEFULLY there's another one left hiding in there so we can both put a pair in the button display :icon_thumleft:

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

Now that's perseverance, WTG! Before long you will have the whole coat, dig everything!! Amazing, simply amazing!!!

Congrats again!

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

Great finds again!!

BTW, I think the dime has a mintmark between the wreath at the bottom reverse. So 1877 S or 1877 CC? Can't tell. I'd wager the 1877 S, but hope I'm wrong.

Re: A THIRD H.M.A.???!!!

Excellent score on the nice old buttons  good luck on finding the remaining buttons. There might be some cuff buttons too.
