Josh and I returned to our latest site that has been good to the two of us recently. I got a faint signal bouncing around the mid 40's in the vicinity of where the other two H.M.A.'s were recovered, lo and behold, a third :o :o :o I decided to leave this one with most of the dirt caked on and H.M.A. visible for display. One of the replies to the last thread from a former local hunter stated that he had heard of 8 H.M.A.'s being dug (including our 2). I think it's safe to say an entire coat was discarded in this area so there should be a couple more nearby. Also came away with my best seated dime to date (1877).

Side note- after closer inspection, the buttons are two different variations. The one from yesterday has a slanted left side on the building and thinner letters. For a better view, check out this link and you will see the differences.

I love the look of that uncleaned button sitting next to the cleaned button. With the "gold plating" left inside the "windows", it looks as if the "lights" are on in the building! :laughing7: Congratulations on finding your third H.M.A. button umrgolf2010! :notworthy:
As you mentioned, I bet that there's more where those came from too!

It does appear that the lights are on in the Academy building! That's great stuff! Thanks for the nice reply and we're hoping there's another in there.....

Talk about finding the holy grail. What a fantastic find. I hope you many more there.

J's , I can't see the variation , I need my eyes examined ::) I believe there is a difference . You may have mentioned this :icon_scratch: , question ; were these all found close to each other ??? I like the lost jacket theory ! That would be a grand slam if all the buttons are within that area :o if not , 3 will work, and call it a great week :icon_thumleft:

Once again guys... OUTSTANDING!!! I have moved into the official Jealous category... that is a first for me here on T-Net.. there have been many great finds but these are the first that make me actually envious!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Hey, thank you all for the replies.. Will answer questions later when i get to work. Evan, email sent.. Jeff

Ok, made it to work (unfortunately) :laughing7: .... Thanks Joe :icon_thumleft: Dawg, the two buttons are different, its very slight but if you look at the left side of the building on the latest one, it slants at about a 45 degree angle unlike the first one which goes straight across.. Thanks Monkeyboy, I appreciate the compliments and help i.d.'ing.. Thanks Kuger, we sure hope that whole coat is nearby, the signals are getting very slim but plenty of adjacent property to check :icon_thumleft: ... Kirk, hUGE CONGRATS man!!! (hope to wind up w/ another cut silver or two too) ... Thanks again to all who took time to reply :icon_thumleft:
