On my way to work this morning made a quick stop at my favorite NY sanitation dump. Within a few seconds I spotted treasure! Silver dishes, cups, forks, spoons, tableware - looked through it and discovered most of it to be silver-plated, but through it all I found some REAL treasure - four weighted Sterling Silver candle holders, a Sterling Silver child's cup, and two amazing 19th century Russian Imperial Vodka cups made from 87.5% pure silver!

According to the markings on the bottom of the two vodka cups they were made in Moscow by Mikhail Sokolov some time between 1860 and 1890. The '84' stamp is a purity stamp for '84 zolotniki' which translates to 87.5% silver! The two cups have hand engravings on them depicting castles and other decoration.
