Got out yesterday for our annual NYD dive. The air temp was 2*F/-15*C and the water was 39*F. This time we toasted out the old year before the dive just to get some warmth, it was done in the traditional manner, from some recovered bottles (well cleaned out)

It was way too cold to put the boats in so we just went to the piers in the old part of the city. We had several equipment issus with our gear dispite being extra careful to completly dry off everything that might freeze up, these were sorted out once we got in the water.

Dana made the only good recoveryies, a crock ink well, a milk in great shape and a cell phone. Sorry no pix of the finds, my battery died.

Wishing everyone a fantastic New Year and success in your endeavours.

Just like polar bears.
Looks like a good time for sure, even if a bit nippy.

I guess that's one way to warm up if the air temp is 2 and water is 39!
You guys are a hardy bunch of souls!
Congrats on your finds in 2013, and a great 2014 for you! HH! And stay warm!

Great tradition...your a brave man getting in that ice water!

Looks like a perfect day to me. Fun with friends and a warm drink to heat up from the inside out!
