I haven't been able to get out and hunt much lately and last night I was feeling the itch bad!!! So I was about to call Baldingboy when my phone rings and guess who it was? Yep, BB!

Seems he had the itch too and wanted to tell me he was going. I told him I would meet him at site where they have graded down a big hill to see if we could find anything. Then I remembered to inform the Warden and of course, as usual, a work release was denied, a furlough was denied and an all out pardon was out of the question. So I did what any self-respecting detectorist would do, I dug the last two foot of my new escape tunnel and it was over the wall for this inmate!!! Don't know if I am adding time onto my sentence or qualifying for early release but either way I was going hunting!

Met up with BB who was late as usual, darn that pink TuTu!!! You should have seen the little pink and green bows he had put in his hair on this trip! Gave me a good laugh. I was thinking about wearing the camo TuTu that Roswellborn had made for me for the LBH for good luck but forgot about it when I saw BB hop out of his truck.

Well 45 wasted minutes later we both agreed that we were not at a sight we wanted to keep hunting. I mean two signals in 45 minutes and both were trash.

So I suggested an old home site that was now just an empty field and BB agreed. We jumped into the car and drove off just as the Space Aliens landed in the middle of the field we had just left. I called BB on the phone and told him to keep up with me. And we got out of there fast!

Once at the old home site things weren't really popping but at least we were getting lots of signals. Beer cans, can slaw, pull tabs, etc do count as signals. I found a 1941 wheat penny and it was almost 11 PM and I was about to quit when I got an iffy signal. Dug down about 5-6 inches and out pops this key and its little holder. I just looked at it and a little bell went off inside my head. When I woke up I was laying on my side with a huge knot on the back of my head where BB had clocked me with his Ground Shark after I dug up the key. I was having trouble thinking but I knew I had seen a key like this one on the forum somewhere.

I got home and started cleaning up the key a little and then snapped some pics and posted in the what is it area of the forum, and someone confirmed what BB said and what I had hoped to be the truth. Turns out it's a Model T/A key!!!!!! :o

Now I know that this isn't all that great a find for some of you but it is one of the coolest relics I have found in a long time and it has brought me back to my happy place with detecting again. So thanks for looking and if you ever go hunting with Baldingboy, NEVER let him get behind you with that darn Ground Shark....... ::)

Yours License Plate is "IBDUMB"

Couldn't resist telling the truth. It seems to run short in your postings on here.

Never fear! I have your 'kitty' and 'bear' barets that you left in my truck. I hate to break this to you here, but if you don't get rid of the tutu and barets, I will be forced to find someone else to hunt with! :P

Hey you idjit :icon_pirat:....check out the one interesting thing I found at this site aside from the 1910 and 1940 Wheat....oh, and 1 cent MO Tax Token. I think this was possibly off an old pocket watch or something.

Well the photos above appear to be a 1928-29 Model-A Ford and these keys would be different than the Model-T key with belt clip you found!!! see the Model-A keys have teeth only on one side and can be confused for a pad lock key! My Dad has a 1929 and 1930 Model-A fords! 1 Briggs and 1 Murray

What's up ME? Found my first Merc today (a 45) to go with my first Barber dime found about a month ago (1906), also found my first Indian head (and oldest coin, 1901) and got married to the Missus July 4th! Glad to see you guys are still bangin. May well see you in Kansas. Keep it real!

I don't know what that is BB but it is COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You always find great stuff!

And I'll quit teasing you about your TuTu and such when you quit teasing me about mine! :tard: :tongue3:

Besides, I try and keep us busy with new sites to harvest can slaw from. What other tecking buddy would go to so much trouble to do that for ya?????? ??? ::) :D

I'm pretty sure that I have a Model T key and not an A key. I am super excited about this find because, to me it is SOOOOOO cool! I am going to display this one and I am trying to buy one in good condition off of eBay or somewhere else but $20.00 for a key seems a little pricey to me...

Sorry about your luck, no wait I mean congrats on the marriage! :tard:  ;D I wish you only happiness in your new journey with your wife. She likes to detect as I recall so you have that going for you already. Congrats on the Merc. I think I have found around 15-20 of them and they are always nice! Never found a Barber and probably never will, neither will Baldinboy though cause he doesn't have any hair! ::) And I don't know about "bangin" but we still try and get out and do our weekly metal detecting hunt.

ME as always great stuff again!

BB and you dont stop what you 2 do would not be the same if ya didn't keep the joking up! (truth telling) but I will never tell whos the cutest in there tutu! ;D

ZEN CONGRATS cant wait to see you all again!

Yes it is a Model-T key!!! Model-A keys are different! Old Man showed pics of a 28-29 Model-A sitting in front of his house!!!!

I knew what you meant there QS! I was just saying how excited I am to have found not only the key but also the little pocket clip thing that went with it. I have thought back over all the stuff I have ever found and don't know that anything I have is as cool as this little key!!!! Also that I don't think I have a Model A key at all was what I was trying to say. After I went through all my keys seeing what an A key looked like, I was sure that I had found one of those as well but I guess not. :(

They sure made some neat old cars back then didn't they?

Thanks for all the posts...
