I walked about 6 or 7 hours today.I was walking land which had been dozed it was amazing to find anything whole. After about 3 hours a tractor arrived with a big disc I fell in behind it for the rest of the day, and found a few more .I thought of the old time farmers that had to work behind a mule, man that had to be rough.Just walking over the freshly ploughed ground will wear you out,but I loved it as long as Im finding stuff. 0506181244.jpg0506181244a.jpg0506181310a.jpg0506181311.jpg0506181854.jpg0506181856a.jpg0506181858d.jpg

I've got a piece just like the bottom right. Same color and shape - if yours is somewhat rounded. Actually, I have more than one of those - all found at same site.

I hope it is welsbury I carried it to the edge of the field in some shade Ive never seen one like that blowed up like a balloon. It was alive when I left it.

Thats a good hunt in anybodies book. I have dreams of them kind of hunts but they surly havent been coming true for this year.

It was a good day rock, but it needs flattening out bad and rain. If I can get in there then there is no telling how many I will find it hadnt had any rain on it.

Thats true I have looked behind while they are discing the fields and have found nothing but clumps of dirt. If you are finding them without rain that is a great field. Hoping you got some of the rain this week we got it should be popping if you did. Most of the farmers here havent even planted yet which is strange already a month past planting season now.
