Looks like it was quite a nice home in it's day. Did the access just become overgrown due to not being used? Do you have any idea how long it has been abandoned or the history of the home? I would assume Louisiana has a lot of abandoned homes like this?

Dayumm, nice keys good job ! Happy hunting

Very cool finds.

That would be worth taking off work to hunt! lol

The home is about 3/4-1 mile off the nearest highway. I'm still doing research on the home. It had no plumbing or running water. There was no electricity either. There is a second smaller building behind this one which is now collapsed. I am told it was slave quarters. The house sits on my employers property and we have another plantation on our property which has been rebuilt and is used to house clients. I'm still trying to get permission for this one as I don't think it has ever been hunted either. The pic of the second plantation is pre WWII along with it's outhouse.
And yes Diesel, I have thought about the walls and attic. I only have a cheap detector right now but my At Pro should arrive before the weekend!

Congratulations on the new At-Pro! I am excited just reading your thread! I know you will find many more items. Keep trying to get permission on the other plantation. I think you have truly found a gold mine!

Thanks! Now I just need a diggin buddy! Lol

If I wasn't so far away I would be all in! There is just something about abandoned places that intrigue me, I can't get enough of them!

Went to my home away from after work yesterday for about an hour. Here are my findings. An old furniture(?) handle, a wine or bottle top I think, a brass latch, a buckle, and the brass section of an old shotgun shell.
