Found this about 10" down with my Vaquero. Thinking drive chain link of some kind.

To a manure spreader.

EWWWWWW!!!!!! And I touched IT!!!!!:tongue3:

The rust will get you before the manure does. Once a long time ago I was finding grapeshot on a Rev War battlefield. I dug down in this one hole and there about 8" down was a nice brown grapeshot. Not. It squished. There was also a piece of the same kind of manure spreader in the hole!

I water hunt but i always where gloves

I had gloves on way back then even! But still...

Yep looks like a manure spreader chain. The vaquero will punch deep for sure! I gave up on a saw blade at about 18" with the Vaquero last year. I'm tempted to go back and dig it up now that the crops are out.

That type chain had many applications in the farm. You didn't necessarily touch manure spreader chain.

Seen 'em lots of times. Both while running and while not running. Also had to load them a couple of times...

:nono::nono::nono::nono:DOOOOOOOODIE!!!!!!!!'(caddy shack reference)

Just one of those things that has no reason to be where it was.

Same chains were used on some combines.
