Since the 250 does not have ground balance it might not be able to go deeper where your hunting due to minerals in the soil. Either that or there are no coins deeper. You need to make a test garden.

Great post! To add, you will need the test garden to be tightly packed and set for at least a year to get decent results.

I think soil moisture has a lot to do with it for sure but also target size. I know my hubby found a walking liberty half at 8 inches. Probably wouldn't have detected it had it been a dime.
