Detector(s) used
Primary detector is a Garrett AT Pro
Also have a Garrett Ace 250
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I think I already know the answer, but is there any way to crank the volume down a little on the Ace 250. I tried headphones for the first time and whoooa nelly it about busted my ear drums. If there is no way to cut down the volume I may have to resort to buying headphones with some sort of volume control on them. I'm using a really nice pair of Sony over the ear headphones. Any suggestions?

Sometimes these detectors are set with to much volumn, which is better than to little. You are going to have to get the volumn controled head phones to save your hearing. Or, wear ear plugs with the phones you already have till you get the better phones. Good Luck.

How much are we paying you Sandman? Whatever it is, I want to double it! Oh you don't get paid? Then triple it ! Why didn't I think of that? That'll do the trick, at least for the time being.

THanks much,

I use a basic set of phones (actually, the Garrett Sport phones) and wear them about an inch in front of my ears. That way, they aren't deafening and I can still hear what's going on around me. (At the Sandy Eggo beaches, especially in the evenings, being aware of one's surroundings is a must. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met the pretty lass the other night who asked for help finding her car keys!)

Ramapirate, you'd have thought of it soon. Sometimes your to close to the problem. I have things happen too that I have even given up on till someone else sees what is wrong. Mostly this involves using my camera.

Take Care,

Sandman

I tried the little cheapo headphones that came with it and they work fine. I'll just use them until I can get some big ones that aren't so loud. Thanks Sandman. I hunted today and found about a 20 oz cup full of clad. It was fun. I still haven't found any gold, but I'm not slowing down any. It's out there...

Radio Shack, behind the ear lightweight stereo, with inline volume control phones. $15.99. I have two pair, one for my ACE and one for a backup and to use on any of my other detectors where I need a lightweight hotweather headphone. Monty

I'll go snag some, that's in my cheapo price range. Thanks much!
