Another find I just got from a night hunt. Could this of been maybe a small handle for a cabinet? I know it’s old!!

You might be right. It might be a drawer pull. That's a neat piece. That will look good cleaned up a bit & in your relic display. Congrats.

Yea for sure. Im going to places that I used to play when I was a child. I’d like to discover some more un detected sites. There are numerous old cellar holes in the woods around here. I have been to a few more known ones that have been hit before me, I do always seem to manage to find something worth making a post on here about

Yeah I got alot of old homesteads/ limestone foundations I hunt year after year. They always seem to produce. But i got the weeds & crops to deal with before they are too tall, soo i got a limited hunt time on each site. Gotta love this hobby.

We have had other similar items to that posted in the past here on Tnet..and if my memory is correct, those were the top to the lid of a tea (coffee)canister or caddy.
Designs were different but the top handle or finial were made of base metal and the canisters were tin so the can rusted or was broken away.
I dont have a reference post or pic but I'm sure the researchers will confirm or deny lol.

It crossed my mind, but not seen one quite like it, other than its the right metal & general size for one of these. Late 18th-early 19th C.

Forgot, I was thinking a tobacco box lid rather than Tea, but I guess it could be either.

Great Save and Find of the acorn piece. Congrat's. This particular piece probably has nothing to do with the CW, but the acorn was the symbol of the 14th Corps, U.S. during the American CW. One of my favorite relics is an acorn carved from a lead ball. Again, great Save on this piece. It has lots of detail to it, and I'm sure a story to accompany it as well.
