I would think it would be votes from members & the MODs just like now.
Of course we need to lower the bar as far as finds go. This is supposed to be a fun & encouraging experience for kids.

Thanks for clearing that up Buddy! Yea cause I'm not sure how many kids would keep there interrest in it to decide for themself.I don't even have a clue how many are on here that age you speak of.And I know parents with there kids can get purdy defensive.
But you are a nice Guy it seems and wanting to help is A1 in my book. Tell you the truth I was just floating around on here today and saw this post and then my user name and I got off in never -never land I guess!Sorry about that!

No problem at all. I was talking with 4-H the other day and he (Mike) & his wife run a 4-H camp in the NC mountains.
He said the kids love to detect at the camp. The idea just popped into my mind so I thought I would post it up for others input too. I don't get too many good ideas, so this was one of those rare moments.
I guess it's up to Marc now.

I hold an annual fishing derby for the neighborhood kids and they love it. Like you mentioned above, a lot of kids today are soft due to tv, computers, cell phones, etc. I was like you, always outdoors and finding some adventure as a kid.

Lowering the bar meaning every time a kid posts it makes the banner. You really couldn't have it any other way. I think a kids forum might be better than a banner if you're trying to create interest.

As far as the banner for kids, I'm thinking maybe a silver coin, token, piece of jewelry, old button, etc. would be worthy.

Maybe you thought I meant their finds would be on the same banner as the current one?
I meant add another banner up top and label it "Banner Kids".

What do you think?

I am sorry I have been unable to follow ALL the posts and threads.... :P

Anyway, since you need to be at least 13 to register here, we really shouldn't have anyone younger than teenagers here.

Teenage visitors or teenage members? I can attest that there are quite a few visitors my friend. They posted stuff all last summer to see it pop online.
Besides...What a great way to obtain some future t-netters eh?
