Admire old craftsmen

Sometimes when searching old buildings i often see ingenuity in the building. Using primative tools, they did some amazing things... This old barn is only about a mile from my place it the East Texas woods...

we have a lot of old buildings w/ hand hewn timbers around here. It amazes me how they have stood for so long! & when you think about it, the people had to be jack of all trades. they did everything! I wonder how far we would get if we had to build our own place? fireplace? doubtful, well? doubtful, house? not one that would stand for any length of time. one of my favorite places to visit is a homestead that has it all. including a graveyard. & it was landscaped beautifully. rock walls, pathways to the outhouse & the well, a rock cellar. it is unfortunate I can't hunt there. but the owner lets me go there & I am thankful for that.
