Advice on detecting wooded areas

So I’m fairly new to the detecting hobby and I’m still getting to know my machine and how it reacts to different soils and conditions. I recently got a permission to dig on the site of a town that existed between the late 1700-1930s. There are no shops are homes still standing and the area is wooded and thick with undergrowth. It has never been detected and the ground has never been farmed or disturbed since the end of the town. My question is what coil size should I use? Chances are the relics will be deep, but I will probably have limited swinging range due to trees and underbrush. It’s a somewhat wet swampy area with a mix of soil type. Any advice would be appreciated.
