this is a simple diagram of the local beach the yellow areas are sand and just up from the shore line the is an area about three feet wide where the sea seems to have deposited what looks like coal dust I believe this to be what is black sand I also believe that gold would end up in this area the beach is littered with hotrocks after excellent advice for members here I had my heart set on a minelab sov gt however the cost is a little too high for me just know the detector I have in mind is an older model of the minelab the MINELAB SOVEREIGN XS2 I have been led to believe this would deal with blacksand /hotrocks bearing in mind there is about 26mile of coastline where iam my questions are these.
1.will the minelab sovereign xs2 handle the conditions mentioned
2.Have i got the right area to search
3.iam am trying to locate glory holes in general where will these be located
the beach in question was a hoilday hot spot in the 40s and 50s I have obtained photos of at the point in time believe it or not from around 1900-1920 there were huts there with people living in terriable conditions iam fortunate in as much as the hobby isnt particularly popular here local knowlege had led me to believe that it was used to transpot munitations across the sea to france during the second world war also that smuggling was rife here during the 17th century.
