Wife kicked me out so she could finish cooking and cleaning before company arrived and basically told me to get out of her hair so what better way to celebrate my bday and the last day of the year... yes! Some good ol dirt fishing, [emoji23]

Went out for a quick hunt at an old honey hole and oddly enough was able to pluck some of the usually buttons before it got dark. Just as I was about to call it a quits, I decided to hit a different spot, a spot here I found a beautiful gold coin... I was surprised when it popped out the ground and immediately text a photo to my buddy Bob-E-Pin. I new something was different when I saw what appeared to be an eagle but was just to excited that I pulled something other then the usual buttons... before I could clean some of the dirt away, my buddy right away responded “Oh sh*+ dude is that Nazi?” [emoji23]. That’s when I made the discovery and saw the swastika underneath the Eagle... I must say it was the last thing I figured I would find.. but start making sense since the place is an old dump site/fort.... enjoy the pics as well as some of the previous finds I neglected to post. Happy New Years to all! Congrats on the cool relics and tokens! :occasion14:

Now that is a cool relic of a different kind! Who would have thunk it!

I believe that German prisoners were brought over here to work farms / road projects while our troops continued to fight. Or perhaps it’s a souvenir brought home after the war? Cool find no matter how it got here.

TY, I found one of those Green River whiskey tokens many years
back. Found it at an elementary school that had a 10x10 patch of
bare, hard dirt surrounded by concrete walkways on all sides. My
CZ-6a said there was a good target there, and I hacked my way
through 8" of that that hardpan to get it.

Wasn't near as good of condition as yours..congrats on the goodies..:occasion14:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Those are some sweet finds I love the medals and the token and the swastika thing is really cool Happy Birthday and Happy new year Tommy

Must've come home as an old war souvenir. The Nazi aspect is creepy but I love finding war related relics like that!

Pith helmet badge.... I'd call it a great and rare find. Congrats!

Congrats on the great finds. I've learned that all whiskys eventually come with regrets. Happy New Year and keep the finds coming

Awesome finds! Congrats!

There were Afrika Korps POW camps in your area so there's a very good chance it came over with one of those guys. Very nice find with some great world and local history

an interesting read https://www.humanitiestexas.org/new...-came-texas-world-war-ii-pows-lone-star-state

During the war, my Dad was too young to serve in the military but helped out with war efforts here at home like most everyone else did. At the age of 16 he drove a truck to collect German POW's that were housed at the Chickasha, Oklahoma POW camp and took them to the farms to work. He said that for the most part they were all very glad to be out of the war. He said one of them who could speak English once told him "Hitler promised that we would one day march across America. He just didn't tell us that we'd be cutting broom corn along the way"

Very cool find
Congrats
